Matt Poskay of the Boston Cannons Wins 2010 Bud Light MVP
Matt Poskay became the second straight Cannon to win the Bud Light MVP. Following Paul Rabil’s 2009 MVP season, Poskay scored 45 goals in 12 games with a total of 52 points. Poskay is the fourth Cannon to win the award.
Poskay had an outstanding 2010 season. Moving from midfield to attack, the 2006 University of Virginia grad adjusted seamlessly, blowing away the competition. He led the number one seeded Boston Cannons to an 8-4 record and led the league in goals by 20 (Long Island Lizards’ Matt Danowski scored 25). Poskay did all this while shooting 45.9%.
Poskay also took home the Warrior Offensive Player of the year. Poskay isn’t the only Cannon taking home awards. His goalkeeper Kip Turner was awarded the Warrior Goalkeeper of the Year last week.
With Poskay’s MVP, the Cannons now have had the most MVPs in MLL league history breaking the tie of three with the Rochester Rattlers (Toronto Nationals).
